The heart of GEAR-Tech-21 is its curriculum. The program has one activity with up to 4 hours of exercises for each week during an academic year for two years. Camp curriculum us a sampling of the year-long program. As a leader you can choose which exercises your youth should do. Each activity includes:
- Introductory material, often with a real-life example of a robot or other technology that uses the activity's focus skills
- A guided primary exercise with step-by-step instructions to build youth confidence and skill
- A virtual exercise asking the youth to either research real-world applications of the day's concepts to share on the club blog or to photograph/videotape the challenge activity and share it on the club blog
- A team-focused exercise
- An open-ended challenge activity asking youth to work as a team to solve a given problem utilizing the focus skills without much guidance.
To protect our youth, viewing most activities is restricted to registered users. You can explore select activities without a password for evaluation purposes. Each activity includes an online instructional module, a worksheet and a helpers guide.
