Robotics and GPS/GIS in 4-H: Workforce Skills for the 21st Century

NSF-ITEST Grant Information

    Project Overview
  • Nebraska 4-H hosted two pilot camps last summer to teach middle school youth about building and programming robotics, the fundamentals of GPS and GIS, and aerial photography. We are now recruiting clubs and afterschool programs to be a part of this exciting project. To begin clubs and afterschool programs will need an adult leader and a group of a least 10 youth who are willing to participate in the program for two years. The summer camps will be held in June of 2008 and 2009. Adults leaders will be provided training prior to the camps. Note: Adult leaders are not required at the camp but are welcomed. During the school year clubs and afterschool program should plan on meeting for about 10 hours per month.
