4-H Club Enrollment

All GEAR-Tech-21 Clubs should enroll as 4-H Clubs. This process differs greatly from state to state. Below are the steps to follow in Nebraska. If you need help along the way, please ask for assistance. GEAR-Tech-21 staff would be happy to contact your local Extension Educator directly to tell him or her about the project.

1. Visit your local county Extension office
2. Obtain Youth Enrollment, Volunteer Profile and Screening forms, 4-H Charter Application and any other information that is needed.
3. Return materials to office, pay fees (if necessary)
4. Club Charter and Volunteer Profile forms should be returned as instructed on the forms
5. Create club constitution and bylaws
6. Request EIN (Employer Identification Number) number from the IRS
7. Set up bank account- either a checking or savings
8. Inform county Extension office of EIN number and bank account information and provide a copy of your Constitution and By Laws
